Reading belongs to Everyone.

Reading for pleasure changes lives, because everyone deserves access to books they choose.

BFB exists because access to books and the freedom to choose them is not equally distributed.

Reading is about more than literacy.

It's about curiosity. Confidence. Connection. Opportunity.

When books become part of everyday life, communities become stronger—not because someone assigned reading, but because everyone has the freedom to choose what speaks to them.

A family of three, a man, a woman, and a young girl, browsing and reading books on the green bookshelves, with the girl showing a book to the man. The man is wearing a gray t-shirt and shorts, the woman is in a pink t-shirt and shorts, and the girl is in a leopard print top and dark shorts.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Reading is for everyone.

Two children are lying down, reading a colorful storybook together on a table, with a green background behind them.
A person reaches for a book on a bookshelf, wearing a mustard-colored sweater and multiple bracelets. The bookshelf contains books with various titles and colors.

Choice is the point.

Collection of children's books titled 'a kids book about' with different colors including green, white, red, blue, and yellow, arranged on a white surface.

Access is dignity.

Street market with an outdoor book sale on a narrow alley, books laid out on tables, and people browsing.

Culture moves people.

Community fuels everything.

A small white library box filled with books stands outdoors next to purple flowering bushes. The box has a black top, a glass door, and a white sticker on the front encouraging people to take or share books. The website LittleFreeLibrary.org is printed on the sticker.
